Wilcox Miniature Silver Plate Candlestick, 2 inches high, 3 inch diameter tray excluding handle, marked “Quadruple Plate, Wilcox Silver Plate Co., Meriden, Conn., 2773”, probably late 1800’s, some scratches inside the candle holder base, some tarnish but still retains the original plating, tiny candle holder with a finger handle and original separate drip catching insert, lovely embossing around the edge of the tray and on the top of the handle, stippled finish to the inside of the tray, an added footed base to keep the candlestick off whatever surface it is placed on, the numbers “2773” indicate the set of other silver plate items that this matches, probably meant to be used as a chamber candle to see one’s way to bed, or could have been part of a desk set for melting sealing wax, nice condition, a charmer.
