Vintage Thai Figure
Carved by hand, this wooden musician figure has a red undercoat covered with
gold paint (or possibly gold leaf). It was then embellished with pieces of colored
glass mirror in Thai fashion.
The unfinished red backside (possibly to save on gold leaf, if that's what it is) and
the round ring for hanging are often seen on vintage Thai pieces of this type.
There are some age-related cracks in the elbow (refer to photos). These are not
glaring.
