Pair of English or American Georgian Style Silver Plate Candlesticks c. 1880

Description

This fine pair of mid Georgian style silver plated candlesticks are probably either English or American.  They have no maker's marks and have indication of a fair amount of hand work.  I believe they are from the earliest period of electro-plating in the 1870's.  They look every inch like a fine pair of English sterling candlesticks from about 1760.  The plating is done on a brass base and it is a little worn through at the high points of the columns and there is one small area on the base of on the base of one candlestick where a bit of silver-plate is missing.  The candlesticks are 9.25" tall and are 5" in diameter at the base.  They are very solidly mad and stand perfectly straight.
