Pair Antique DERBY S. P. Company EMBOSSED Silverplate Candlesticks #2516
RENAISSANCE MUSICIANS W SCROLLWORK
Stunning 10.5" tall candlestick holder pair with 4.25" bases and 2.75" across tops, matched set of 2.
Genuine silver plate.
Very good antique condition.
These have darkened normally w age & one has small flaws- a slight rolled dent in the underside of top rim [see last pic] which is very minor. This candlestick is VERY slightly not completely straight and has 3 small green spots on foot which look to me like paint and may be removable, up to buyer. VERY Minor.
These are the OLDEST version of this design, made around circa 1900. Later versions had the name stamp over on the edge.... these have the name stamp/number in the center underside. Incredibly beautiful embossed detailing with a very ornate style- MUSICIANS playing musical instruments. Original paper label residue on underside. Please see pics and zoom in. Nice and heavy. These are stunning. Panels alternate on candlesticks from musicians to scrolls & back again.
A lovely and elegant candlestick set, nice for a table or centerpiece. Pretty much 'untippable' due to weight and width of base, so they're very safe.
