Terrific Early Victorian Era Silver Plate Chamberstick or Handheld Candle Holder by Hawksworth, Eyre & Co, Sheffield, England

Circa: 1837-1863 (when Hallmarks were used)
Neat Pre Civil War (US) Early Victorian Era Chamberstick Candle Holder with snuffer.  Great look to this Hawksworth, Eyre & Company piece, just the right size to add a splash of shine and historic feel to any antiqued room, office, B&B or other.  Hallmarks place this from 1837 to 1863 per online sources.  The base of candle holder is clearly silver plated as shown in pictures and by the hallmarks.  But we are not sure if the candle snuffer and removable top candle mount piece is silver or plated as well.  The removable candle mount part only has a star mark and not a hallmark.  That said, we are pricing item for antique value, not silver content.  The number on bottom is 12462, which may be a production date but we are not sure, but 12-4-1862 would fit the timeline H&E Co used these hallmarks.
This is a rarer style of chamberstick and we could not find another like it that has been sold in decades that our research goes back.  Chambersticks of course are not scarce as an item generally, but ones of this style are more so.  Item is in really nice shape with just some moderate wear on the bottom as shown in pictures.  We did not attempt to clean the item as some prefer a slightly tarnished look and it looks terrific as it is.  The total piece weighs about 13.9 ounces total.  The snuffer is about one ounce, the removable candle holder top is 1.2 ounces.
